Emerged in late 2018, Wolf Ugly is a three piece alternative rock band from Tulsa Oklahoma. Formed originally by singer-songwriter Brett Mitchell, soon joined by longtime friends Johnny Brasel on drums, and Ezra Schaeffer on bass guitar.
In the fall of 2020, the band began recording with local producer Dustin Farris. Planning to promote their upcoming debut album, the band released their first two singles. The stadium ready anthem titled “Emo," followed by the skater influenced fan favorite “Let You Down." February 2021 came the release of the bands long awaited debut album “NODA."
A record tackling subjects such as death, love, loss, and suffering. blending genres such as, alternative/indie rock, punk, pop, and acoustic folk.
After a long run of consecutive local gigs, from DIY venues, to sold out shows.
The band embarked on a few small runs of shows out of state in the summer of 2021, obtaining gigs all throughout the Midwest to retain the praise they had been receiving since their inception. shortly after non-stop gigging and traveling most of the midwest. The band released "Filtered Afternoons," a collection of B-sides that were cut from the original "NODA" recording sessions.

At the beginning of 2022 the band paired with Stephen Adwell with AMR Studios to record the first single "~The Ballad Of Two Souls~" Considered to be a fan favorite, and a staple for live shows.
Shortly after the release of the first single, the band decided to take an approach to deliberately sway from the melodic Shoegaze-esque track to deliver a more familiar angsty track "As Above," which was recorded alongside Matt Baker with Tuneroom Studios.
In August the band hit the road for their first U.S Tour alongside Oklahoma natives Sabertooth, whom they'd been performing alongside religiously the past year and rallying quite a following back home.

Shortly after the end of the tour, Wolf Ugly saw the departure of drummer Johnny Brasel, and Bassist Ezra Schaeffer.
After nearly three years of non stop grinding and touring. Founding member Brett Mitchell, took time off to focus on a new approach towards writing, recording and structuring songs that are still planned to be released on the highly anticipated sophomore album.
"Make knots, Turn Around" was released February 1st, 2023. A hauntingly sorrowful yet beautiful track hinting at the departure of longtime bandmates and catapulting towards the start of a new era for the band.
November 10th, 2023 the band released their highly anticipated sophomore album "worrystone"
In addition to the release of their new album, the band announced their first international tour. Dates include North America & Canada.
